A platform of her own
Mahdia Khamoosh joined the 2026 CodeWeekend Web & AI Development Bootcamp as one of 50 participants selected from more than 280 applicants across Afghanistan. She is from Panjshir.
In the first weeks of the program, Mahdia built and launched her own personal website from scratch. In a time when many Afghan women have limited opportunities to express themselves publicly, that website is more than a technical exercise. It is a platform — a place where her voice can be seen and heard.
What the bootcamp is teaching
The 2026 program is structured to take students from the basics of technology to building real, AI-integrated web applications. By the end of the 12 weeks, every student will have shipped a capstone project — their own design, their own code, presented at Demo Day.
Mahdia is part of that journey. The website she built in week one is the start.
What this means
Every website, every app, every new idea is more than code. It is a step toward a brighter future, showing the strength and imagination of the people who built it.
