Already working in tech, Mehreen used CodeWeekend to level up into a better role with deeper technical responsibility.

CodeWeekend gave me the technical skills and the confidence to ask for the job I actually wanted.

A career upgrade, not a career start

Not every CodeWeekend graduate is starting from zero. Some come to the program already employed, but in roles that don’t reflect their ambition or their capability. Mehreen was one of those.

Through the program, Mehreen built the deeper technical skills she needed to make the move — and got hired into a stronger role after graduation.

Why the alumni network keeps mattering

For graduates like Mehreen, the program is not the end of the relationship. The CodeWeekend Slack and alumni network remains active long after graduation: introductions, code reviews, salary advice, and the kind of community that comes from going through something difficult together.
